Dhaka, Jan. 20 -- A fake news website is using the logo and layout of bdnews24.com to spread a false report over a new "investment platform" that promises a "guaranteed income of 800,000 Bangladeshi taka per week with minimal investments".

The site uses the logos of several prominent persons, banks, individuals, businesses and organisations to try and convince people to sign up for "Instant Akpro 2X" while providing their first and last names, email, and phone number.

The logos of Islami Bank, Tiger IT, DataSoft, BRAC Bank, the Ministry of Finance, and the name of economist and former Bangladesh Bank governor Atiur Rahman to entice registrants.
