Dhaka, Nov. 19 -- An "extramarital affair" between the wife of an expatriate worker, cattle trader Abdul Latif, and his brother-in-law led to the murder, police say.

Police have arrested four people over the killing. Latif's body, with its hands and feet bound, was found in the Fuljor River in Sirajganj's Raiganj on Nov 12.

The arrestees confessed at the court on Tuesday that the "extramarital affair" was the motive for the murder.

Sirajganj Senior Judicial Magistrate KM Shahriar Shahid Bappi recorded their statements on Tuesday, said DB Police SI Nazmul Haque, the investigation officer of the case.
