Dhaka, May 14 -- Badiul Alam Majumdar, a member of the National Consensus Commission who also heads the Electoral Reform Commission, says the next general election could be held before December-if political parties reach an agreement on key structural reforms.
Appearing on bdnews24.com's flagship discussion programme Inside Out, he spoke candidly about the reform agenda, flaws in the electoral process, and the critical need for political goodwill during the transition.
The timeline now depends on political consensus, Badiul said.
"The ball is in the political parties' court. The earlier they agree, the sooner the electoral process can begin," he says
