Dhaka, Dec. 28 -- The deadline for candidates to collect and submit nomination papers for the upcoming parliamentary elections will end at 5pm on Monday.
No decision has yet been made on extending the timeframe, Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud told bdnews24.com on Sunday.
"If all parties come and ask for an extension, then it can be considered. Otherwise, the original schedule remains in place," he added.
Under the electoral code of conduct, no more than five people, including candidates, their proposers and supporters, are allowed to be present at the time of submitting nomination papers.
Any procession or show of strength during the filing will be treated as a violation of the electoral rules.
