Dhaka, Nov. 25 -- Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has urged domestic election observers to carry out their duties in the next general election by strictly following the law, without "intervention", and while maintaining a "neutral role".

He was speaking at a dialogue on Tuesday afternoon at the Election Commission in Agargaon with leaders and representatives of domestic observer groups.

"This work will not be easy for you. Many of you are young. Some organisations have experience, while some do not," said Nasir Uddin.

The CEC also urges caution in appointing observers.

"This is extremely important: whom you recruit and assign. It is you who are responsible for monitoring them in the field. They must act unbiased," sa...
