Dhaka, July 1 -- Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has said preparations for the upcoming national election are in full swing, though he did not discuss a timeframe for the upcoming national polls with Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus during their recent meeting.

Speaking at the Election Commission (EC) headquarters on Tuesday, Nasir Uddin said Yunus was only briefed about the state of election preparations in the courtesy call.

"He inquired about the preparations, and I informed him that we are proceeding at full throttle," Nasir said, adding: "The election preparations are now in full gear."
