Dhaka, Oct. 22 -- Ebtedayee madrasa teachers have demanded the resignation of Education Advisor Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar after he allegedly refused to meet a delegation sent to hand over a memorandum.
The teachers accused the advisor of showing disrespect by not granting them an audience, calling it an "insult" to the wider teaching community.
Kazi Mokhlesur Rahman, chairman of the Swatantra Ebtedayee Madrasa Shikkhok Oikyo, said outside the Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon: "Our plan was to submit a memorandum to the education advisor and discuss our demands.
"But as we began our march, we were blocked by law enforcers."
