Dhaka, Dec. 8 -- A delegation from Jamaat-e-Islami has sat down for talks with the Election Commission amid preparations to announce the schedule of the 13th parliamentary election and the planned national referendum, expected to take place simultaneously in early February next year.
The meeting began around 11:30am on Monday at the EC headquarters in Dhaka's Agargaon.
Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin is chairing the session, with other election commissioners also in attendance.
Jamaat's six-strong contingent is being led by the party's Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar.
