Bangladesh, Sept. 9 -- Dhaka University students are turning out in droves for the long-awaited elections to the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and hall unions, with long queues marking the early hours of voting.

Voting began at 8am on Tuesday at eight centres across the university. But students had started gathering well before the polls opened.

At the University Laboratory School and College centre, where Shamsunnahar Hall students are voting, the line extended nearly a kilometre by 8:30am.
