Dhaka, Oct. 11 -- Dhaka University Chhatra Dal Senior Joint Secretary Nasir Uddin Shawon has been granted bail in a kidnapping and extortion case with the plaintiff's consent.

A Dhaka court issued the order on Saturday, allowing Shawon to be released on a Tk 500 bond, while two other suspects, Mohammad Helal Uddin and Mohammad Idris, were remanded in custody.

The hearing was conducted by Metropolitan Magistrate Minhajur Rahman. Prosecution Sub-Inspector Moktar Hossain provided the court with details.

The case was filed on Friday with Gulshan Police by Sheikh Naim Ahmed, owner of Tripzyan Travel Agency, alleging that Shawon and his associates abducted and extorted him.
