Dhaka, June 16 -- A bus driver has been detained in Habiganj's Nabiganj Upazila for allegedly raping a college student on his vehicle.

He was apprehended in the Upazila's Aushkandi area around 10:30pm on Monday, according to Nabiganj Police Station chief Sheikh Mohammad Kamruzzaman.

The suspect, Md Sabbir Mia, is the son of Chatir Mia from Inatabad Banglabazar in Nabiganj.

According to locals, the girl is a resident of Habiganj's Baniachong Upazila and a student in 11th grade at a college in Dhaka.
