Dhaka, Feb. 19 -- A driver has been killed and another injured after a truck crashed into a stationary one from behind on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Munshiganj.

The accident occurred around 5:45am on Thursday on the Mawa-bound carriageway over the old ferry ghat underpass in Sreenagar, according to Md Safiqul Islam, deputy assistant director of Munshiganj Fire Service Civil Defence.

The driver who died, Shawkat Bepari, 23, was behind the wheel of one of the trucks.

The injured, 24-year-old Imran Mondal, has been sent to Dhaka for advanced treatment.

Witnesses said a truck had stopped on the expressway for repairs when another, approaching from the same direction, lost control and collided with it.
