Dhaka, Jan. 4 -- Dr Kamal Hossain has shown signs of recovery from pneumonia and has been moved to a private cabin at Square Hospital in Dhaka, his party said.

The 88-year-old senior lawyer and Gono Forum founder was admitted on Friday after developing pneumonia, which left him "physically weak".

Gono Forum's General Secretary Mizanur Rahman said on Sunday night: "Dr Kamal Hossain's condition has improved compared with before. This afternoon, he was transferred from the HDU to a private cabin. I visited the hospital and checked on his health."

Earlier, he had asked people to pray for Dr Kamal's full recovery.

He last appeared in public on Wednesday at Khaleda Zia's funeral at Manik Mia Avenue.
