Dhaka, May 5 -- Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has directed doctors to remain at their designated posts following transfers.

He gave the instruction during a ceremony marking the handover of the Health Reform Commission's report at the state guest house, Jamuna on Monday.

Describing the commission's findings as a "landmark initiative", Yunus said: "The health sector has been facing challenges for a long time. If we can resolve them through this initiative, it will be a historic achievement."

He noted that the commission's recommendations could play a vital role in addressing persistent issues in the country's healthcare system, and particularly emphasised the urgent implementation of recommendations wherever possible.
