Dhaka, Dec. 1 -- Doctors in Bangladesh and abroad are working in tandem to oversee the treatment of BNP chief Khaleda Zia, says senior party leader Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

The BNP secretary general made the remark in response to a question from the media at an event marking Dr Reza Kibria joining the BNP at the party chairperson's office in Gulshan on Monday.

"As you know, Madam [Khaleda] is sick and our doctors are working, trying with everything they have. Her treatment is being overseen jointly by doctors in the country and abroad."

"We, alongside the entire country, are always praying to Allah to make her well, so that she may come back to us after overcoming her illness."
