Dhaka, Feb. 20 -- Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md Sazzat Ali has urged businessmen to cooperate with the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) to ensure transparency and fair pricing.
Sazzat made the call during an emergency meeting with traders of Moulvibazar in Old Dhaka on Friday afternoon, a day after a DNCRP team was forced to abandon a drive due to protests from local traders.
"Businessmen must provide full cooperation when DNCRP magistrates conduct drives," the DMP chief said following the meeting.
"This is essential to ensure transparency and keep the prices of essentials within a tolerable limit."
