Dhaka, Dec. 13 -- Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sazzat Ali has expressed hope that the prime suspect in the attempted killing of Sharif Osman Hadi, convener of the Inquilab Mancha platform, will be brought to justice "soon".

Speaking to reporters after attending the annual general meeting of the Bangladesh Retired Police Officers Welfare Association at the Rajarbagh Police Auditorium on Saturday, he appealed to the public to help police trace those involved in the attack.

"We are searching for the prime suspect. It has not even been 24 hours yet. Hopefully we will be able to make a breakthrough. We are seeking cooperation from the public."
