Bangladesh, Feb. 15 -- Those who fled their homes in Bandarban due to the activities of the armed Kuki-Chin National Front, or KNF, have begun returning after 23 months.

The Inter-Services Public Relations, or ISPR, reported 81 people from 15 out of 28 families in Baklai Para of Thanchi have returned home as the security situation has normalised.

The ISPR said many people left their villages in mid-2022 due to the armed activities of the KNF in the Ruma, Thanchi and Rowangchhari Upazilas of Bandarban.

They endured hunger and fear in the remote mountains and forests with their families, including children, to escape the Kuki-Chin.
