Bangladesh, Sept. 16 -- Dhaka Range's Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Md Rezaul Karim has vowed to take action against the perpetrators of violence in Faridpur's Bhanga during Monday's protests over the redrawing of parliamentary constituencies.

Speaking to reporters outside the Bhanga Police Station complex, which also came under attack, at 12pm on Tuesday, Rezaul said discussions had been held on maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety in the aftermath of the unrest.

"I have spoken to the deputy commissioner of Faridpur and with those in charge of security during today's incident," he said.
