Dhaka, Jan. 7 -- Didar A Husain, a founding trustee of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), has been re-elected chairman of the university's Board of Trustees for a two-year term covering 2026-27.

He previously served as chairman during the 2024-25 term.

IUB's founding trust, the Education, Science, Technology and Cultural Development Trust (ESTCDT), announced the election and formation of the Board of Trustees for the 2026-27 term on Dec 23, 2025.

Husain joined the Liberation War while he was a student at the University of Dhaka and was commissioned as an officer in the first War Course of the Bangladesh Army on Oct 9, 1971. He served with the 10 East Bengal Regiment.
