Dhaka, Nov. 22 -- Dhaka University has declared a 15-day closure as concerns mount over students' safety following repeated tremors.
Prof M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, the university's treasurer, told bdnews24.com after a Syndicate meeting on Saturday night that students must leave their residential halls by 5pm on Sunday.
He added that the halls will be put in order before the university reopens.
Prof Jahangir noted that engineers had asked for a two-week window to examine the halls, leading to the decision to clear them for a full safety review.
