Dhaka, June 11 -- In a renewed effort to combat the spread of Aedes mosquitoes and COVID-19, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has announced a series of measures, including steps to double the volume of insecticide sprayed across its zones.
The decisions came at an emergency meeting on Wednesday at the Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) conference room, according to a media DSCC statement.
As part of the new strategy, DSCC will increase the insecticide volume used in fogging machines from 30 litres to 60 litres. The enhanced spraying campaign is set to begin Saturday in a bid to draw "immediate results", the corporation said.
