Dhaka, April 17 -- The Jamuna Express train carriage that derailed in Dhaka's Tejgaon has been recovered, restoring incoming rail service to Dhaka after nearly two and a half hours.

The train derailed around 8am and was recovered around 10:30am, said Kamalapur Rail Station Manager Mohammad Masud Sarwar.

The recovered carriage has been taken to Tejgaon Rail Station, he said.

As the Jamuna Express was headed from Jamalpur to Dhaka, the carriage behind the engine derailed near the Karwan Bazar fish market, said Inspector Ferdous Ahmed Biswas of the Kamalapur Railway Police Station.

The accident brought incoming train service to the capital to a halt until the carriage was removed from the tracks.
