Dhaka, Dec. 30 -- The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has decided to postpone the opening of the Dhaka International Trade Fair by two days following the death of former prime minister and BNP chief Khaleda Zia.

The fair was scheduled to be inaugurated on Jan 1, but after completing all preparations, the authorities have reset the opening date to Jan 3.

The government has declared three days of state mourning over Khaleda's death.

In a media statement issued on Tuesday, the EPB said: "Under the circumstances, it has been decided that the inauguration ceremony of the 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair will be held on Saturday, Jan 3, 2026, instead of Jan 1, 2026."
