Dhaka, Jan. 10 -- Police, however, confirmed that no arrests in the murder have been made.

Shafiqul said several police teams were working to solve the murder, bringing people in for questioning.

"60 people have been questioned, but no arrests have been made," Shafiqul said.

Shortly after 8pm on Wednesday, unidentified gunmen opened fire on him in the alley of the Ahsanullah Institute of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, adjacent to Hotel Superstar on Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue.

Abu Sufian Bepari Masud, general secretary of the Van Workers' Union under Tejgaon Thana, also suffered bullet injuries at the time.
