Dhaka, March 29 -- Rezaul Karim Mallick, chief of the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), has said that security measures across Dhaka have been intensified with increased police presence and heightened levels of intelligence surveillance ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

"To ensure a festive and secure environment for Eid, the DMP has taken all necessary measures to provide comprehensive security at homes, institutions, and shopping centres," Mallick said during a media briefing at the DMP Media Centre on Mintu Road on Saturday.

He added that checkpoints and patrols have been strengthened across the city to maintain law and order during the holidays.
