Dhaka, Nov. 18 -- Police have reported hearing explosions in Dhaka's New Market and Dhanmondi.
These incidents happened amid a spate of arson attacks and crude bomb explosions surrounding the verdict in the crimes against humanity case against Sheikh Hasina.
After 10pm on Monday, at least four crude bombs exploded near the gate of Chandrima Market beside New Market.
New Market Police chief Mahfuzul Haque said, "Some small explosive sounds were heard. No one was found at the scene."
At 9:30pm, two crude bombs detonated in quick succession in front of Meena Bazar on Dhanmondi 27 Road.
Rafique Ahmed, chief of Mohammadpur Police Station, said the blasts occurred in the Dhanmondi Police Station area.
