Dhaka, Feb. 7 -- Supporters of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) have begun gathering in Thakurgaon ahead of party chief Tarique Rahman's election rally.
In his first visit to the district in over two decades, Tarique is expected to arrive at the Government Boys' High School ground around 11:30am on Saturday.
Ahead of his visit, party leaders and activists began assembling at the venue from early morning, with crowds continuing to grow.
Thakurgaon district BNP General Secretary Poygam Ali said Tarique would arrive by helicopter at the Shaheed Mohammad Ali Stadium before proceeding to the rally venue.
Local party leaders said they expected a large turnout at the event.
