Dhaka, June 3 -- With several macroeconomic indicators showing signs of improvement, the Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD) has pinpointed revenue mobilisation as the biggest challenge in the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

At a post-budget discussion held on Tuesday at a hotel in Dhaka's Gulshan, the think tank's Executive Director Fahmida Khatun said: "Revenue collection has always followed a similar pattern, and this time is no different. The revenue target in the new budget is highly ambitious and remains a major concern. For the past 10 years, we've consistently seen these targets go unmet."

She stressed that achieving the revenue goals would require "significant" reform.
