Dhaka, Nov. 15 -- A court has summoned the commissioner of Rajshahi police for providing statements to the media while a suspect allegedly linked to the murder of a judge's son was in custody.
On Saturday, state counsel Ali Ashraf Masum said Rajshahi Metropolitan Magistrates' Court Judge Mamunur Rashid issued a notice on the matter.
The notification instructs Police Commissioner Mohammad Abu Sufian to appear before the court in person by Nov 19 to provide an explanation. The case hearing is scheduled for that day.
According to the notice, on Nov 13, Metropolitan and Sessions Judge Abdur Rahman had his son, Tawshif Rahman Sumon, fatally stabbed after an intruder entered their rented home.
