Dhaka, Feb. 2 -- A Dhaka court has issued an arrest warrant against singer Mainul Ahsan Noble, his mother, wife, and two others in a case that accuses them of embezzling Tk 1.3 million.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Raju Ahmed passed the order on Monday after a report by the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).

The plaintiff has accused the singer of embezzlement "under the pretext of a love affair".

The arrest warrants were issued for Noble, his mother Nazma Hossain, his wife Israt Jahan Priya, his assistant Munem Shah Shoumik, and acquaintance Masud Rana, said plaintiff's lawyer Sajidul Islam.
