Dhaka, Dec. 25 -- A Dhaka court has asked police to explain their delay in producing Aminul Islam Raju, a suspect in the murder of Inqilab Moncho Convenor Sharif Osman bin Hadi, following his arrest.

Police will have to explain in 15 days.

On Wednesday evening, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Awlad Hossain Mohammad Junaid issued the order while serving show-cause notices to prosecution police and the lockup in-charge at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court over the delay.

Assistant Public Prosecutor Qayyum Hossain Nayan confirmed the order passed by the court.

Raju was arrested around 1:30pm at Mirpur-11 on charge of helping Faisal Karim Masud, the main suspect in the Hadi murder, flee Bangladesh across the border.
