Dhaka, May 8 -- The High Court has agreed to hear the appeals filed by former MP Shahrin Islam Chowdhury Tuhin, challenging his convictions in two corruption cases.
The bench of Justice Mohammad Ali and Justice Sheikh Tahsin Ali issued the orders on Tuesday, granting him bail until the appeals are disposed of.
Barrister Hasan Rajib Prodhan represented Tuhin in the hearing.
Earlier, on Apr 29, two trial courts in Dhaka rejected Tuhin's bail petition subject to appeal, and ordered his imprisonment.
Tuhin, a former MP from the Nilphamari-1 constituency, is the son of Selina Islam, the elder sister of the BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
