Dhaka, Jan. 4 -- The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has raised the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at the consumer level by Tk 53 for January, increasing the cost of a 12kg cylinder to Tk 1,306.

The new price, up from Tk 1,253, will take effect from 6pm on Sunday, BERC said in a notification.

BERC Chairman Jalal Ahmed said the commission has fixed the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder at Tk 1,306 for January based on the latest pricing formula.

At the same time, the price of autogas has also been adjusted.

Under the new decision, autogas will cost Tk 59.80 per litre, up by Tk 2.48 from the previous Tk 57.32.
