Dhaka, May 26 -- National Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Ali Riaz has said a preliminary survey will be made to obtain public insight on selected issues as part of the goal of bringing the nation to an agreement on the reform initiatives.

At a briefing in the LD Hall of the parliament complex on Monday, he said the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) will conduct the survey.

Riaz said, "The survey will gather public opinion on the key recommendations previously discussed with political parties."

He said the implementing recommendations from the reform panels is the responsibility of the government, while the political parties will determine the process.
