Dhaka, Dec. 11 -- Rescuers have failed to find 2-year-old Sajid, who is trapped in a deep borehole in Rajshahi's Tanore Upazila, even after digging throughout the night.

The Fire Service resumed excavation work after removing soil to a depth of 35ft, but the child's location could not be determined. New efforts are under way to locate the child using pipes and search vision.

Hundreds of anxious people are waiting at the spot.

Didarul Alam, assistant director of Rajshahi Fire Service and Civil Defence, said: "A 35-foot-deep section has been dug up using an excavator next to the hole where the child fell. Now the Fire Service rescue team is digging a tunnel inside the excavated hole."
