Dhaka, Aug. 31 -- The Supreme Court has reconstituted 65 benches of the High Court Division, directed by Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed.

The benches were reorganised on Thursday, and began judicial proceedings from 10:30am on Sunday, according to the Supreme Court website.

On Aug 25, the president appointed 25 additional judges to the High Court Division. The following day, Chief Justice Refaat administered their oath at the Supreme Court Judges' Lounge.

Their appointments took effect immediately after the swearing-in, and they have been assigned to the reconstituted benches.
