Dhaka, Oct. 8 -- Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to depart for Rome, the capital of Italy, on Sunday to attend an event organised by the World Food Programme (WFP).

The advisor's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam confirmed the trip during a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on Wednesday.

"He (Yunus) will leave for Rome on the 12th of October," Shafiqul said. "He has been invited as a special guest to the global meeting of the World Food Programme there. He will also hold meetings with several high-level officials during the trip."

The interim government head returned home last Thursday from New York after attending the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
