Dhaka, March 26 -- Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has arrived in China, his first state visit since taking charge of the interim government, with the aim of strengthening economic cooperation and taking bilateral relations to new heights.
He reached Hainan province at 4:15pm Bangladesh time on Wednesday, according to his office.
The Chief Advisor's Office said Bangladesh's Ambassador to China Md Nazmul Islam and the Vice Governor of Hainan province Chen Huaiyu welcomed him at Qionghai Bo'ao International Airport.
Earlier, a special flight carrying Yunus and his entourage departed from Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday afternoon.
