Dhaka, Nov. 21 -- Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has expressed grief over the deaths and injuries caused by the earthquake that struck Dhaka and several parts of Bangladesh.
In a condolence message issued on Friday, he prayed for the departed souls and extended sympathies to the bereaved families.
The quake, which measured 5.7 on the Richter scale, struck at 10:38am on Friday. It shook the country and left six people dead, while several hundred were injured.
Yunus also wished quick recoveries for the injured and instructed authorities to strengthen rescue operations in affected areas.
"The government is closely monitoring the situation and doing a full assessment of the damage," he said.
