Dhaka, March 4 -- Moinul Islam Chowdhury, head of the commission investigating enforced disappearances, has revealed that an inquiry is underway to determine the fate of 330 people who were "forcibly disappeared" under the erstwhile Awami League regime and have yet to return.
However, the former High Court judge acknowledged that the chances of their return remain slim.
Addressing a media briefing at the commission's office in Dhaka's Gulshan on Tuesday, he said that the authorities were verifying whether any of the missing individuals were among the Bangladeshi citizens currently imprisoned in India.
