Dhaka, June 24 -- Police have started a case over the alleged harassment of former chief election commissioner KM Nurul Huda.

The case was filed on Tuesday afternoon against members of the BNP's volunteer wing, the Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal, according to Hafizur Rahman, chief of Uttara West Police.

He said the charges include "unauthorised entry into the former CEC's home, physical assault, and public humiliation by forcing him to wear a garland made of shoes".

The case, initiated by Sub-Inspector Sajib Hasan, names six accused individuals, all of whom are said to be followers of Swechchhasebak Dal leader Farid, who was identified with a single name. Along with them, 20 unidentified people have been accused.
