Dhaka, May 26 -- Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus is set to travel to Japan on Tuesday for a four-day official visit.

During his visit, Japan and Bangladesh are likely to sign seven memoranda of understanding (MoU). Bangladesh will also seek $1 billion in budgetary support from Japan.

Acting Foreign Secretary Ruhul Alam Siddique shared the information at a press briefing on Monday.

He said, "We'll seek $1 billion budgetary support from Japan."

Siddique said the chief advisor is scheduled to leave Dhaka on Tuesday night and reach Tokyo the next day. There, he will meet Japan-Bangladesh Parliamentary Friendship League President Taro Aso.

Yunus will then take part in the Nikkei Forum in Tokyo on Wednesday. He will leave Tokyo for home on Sa...
