Bangladesh, Aug. 5 -- Muhammad Yunus, chief advisor to the interim government, will address the nation on Tuesday night to commemorate the anniversary of the July Uprising.

The speech will be broadcast on BTV, BTV News, and Bangladesh Betar at 8:20pm from the Chief Advisor's Office.

The Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League regime fell after 15 years of rule in the face of a student-led mass uprising on Aug 5, 2024 as the deposed prime minister fled to India.

Bangladesh is marking the anniversary of that day as "July Uprising Day".

A day-long programme is being held at Dhaka's Manik Mia Avenue to commemorate the occasion. The chief advisor will scheduled to announce the July Proclamation at the event at 5pm.
