Dhaka, Jan. 5 -- Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has sent a condolence message on behalf of the interim government following the death of former prime minister and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.

The message was delivered to BNP acting chief Tarique Rahman at his Gulshan office around noon on Monday by the Chief Advisor's Private Secretary Shazeeb M Khairul Islam, according to a statement from Yunus's office.

In the message, Yunus expressed deep sorrow and grief at Khaleda's passing and prayed for the salvation of her soul.

He also conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family members, party leaders, activists and supporters.
