Dhaka, Nov. 24 -- Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has convened an emergency meeting with experts and senior officials on earthquake preparedness

He chaired the session at his Tejgaon office around 5pm on Monday, according to the Chief Advisor's Office.

The meeting came amid alarm after four earthquakes struck on Friday and Saturday.

Bangladesh was hit on Friday at 10:38am by the deadliest quake in decades, followed by three tremors on Saturday.

At least 10 people were killed in three districts in Friday's tremor, leaving more than 600 injured while numerous buildings in Dhaka developed cracks, with some tilting.

The 5.7-magnitude quake originated in Madhabdi, Narsingdi, just 13km from Dhaka, with its epicentre 10km beneath the surface....
