Dhaka, Feb. 16 -- As the curtain falls on the interim administration that governed Bangladesh for the past 18 months, Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has reached the final days of his tenure.

State news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that Yunus delivered a farewell address on Monday to officers and employees at his office.

He later joined a photo session with all staff members working there.

The mass uprising had its roots in protests that began in early July 2024, when students took to the streets demanding reforms to the government job quota system.

The movement escalated into widespread violence and ultimately transformed into a student-people's uprising.
