Dhaka, Dec. 12 -- A bus has caught on fire in Dhaka's Badda Link Road.

According to the Fire Service, the blaze broke out on a Dewan Paribahan bus around 7:45pm on Friday.

A video of the incident is circulating on social media, showing the vehicle engulfed in flames before it suddenly begins to roll forward on its own, triggering panic among onlookers.

Md Shahjahan, duty officer at the Fire Service control room, said one of their units was dispatched to the scene, but the fire was extinguished before it could reach the location.

Asked about the cause of the blaze, Shahjahan said they have been told that the engine caught fire after overheating due to a mechanical fault.
