Dhaka, March 1 -- India's Border Security Force, or BSF, is reportedly holding the body of a Bangladeshi man, who was fatally shot near the border in Brahmanbaria's Kasba Upazila.

The shooting occurred on Friday at the Putia border in Bayek Union, according to Kasba Police Station chief Mohammad Abdul Kader.

The victim, identified as 32-year-old Al Amin, was the son of Sultan Mia from Putia village.

Witnesses said that around 7:30pm, BSF personnel opened fire on a group of Bangladeshis near the border. Al Amin was injured and later taken to an Indian hospital, where he reportedly died while receiving treatment.
