Dhaka, March 9 -- Employees of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission, or BSEC, have resumed work a day after they announced a work stoppage over a list of demands, including the resignation of the agency's Chairman Khondoker Rashed Maqsood.
The staff started work in their respective departments at the scheduled office time at the capital market regulator's main office in Agargaon on Sunday. The BSEC chairman and three commissioners also arrived at the commission on time and started their regular work.
After two days of agitation, the BSEC office is now "calm and quiet". There are no protests and visitors are able to enter the office through the main gate.
